  • Overview

    Under the supervision of the Director of Sales, an Account Strategist is responsible for assisting with new product development and other account-related items.  An Account Strategist will also assist with sales activities of existing products.  Must be able to identify and resolve customer issues in all stages of a customer’s tool ownership. This position requires overtime work and travel as often as needed.

    Responsibilities

     

    Account Strategies Activities 

    Overall Goal:  Manage and present deliverables within the defined scope, timeline and budget.

     

    1.  Determine, verify and obtain the resources necessary to fulfill the Overall Goal
         a. Help develop engineering and commercial strategies to acquire new customers and/or help with the development of a new product.
         b. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with prospects and customers.
         c. Act as a direct liaison between customers and internal departments (including the Japan headquarters) to ensure timely and successful communication.

         d. If/when a new product becomes a commercial sale, follow the sales activities to ensure timely delivery of the product. 

     

    Sales Activities   

    Overall Goal:  Manage and lead automation equipment projects from the beginning to the end

        e. Obtain sales leads via existing and potential customers.
        f. Determine the automation needs of a project through internal and external discussions and research.
        g. Discuss internally with engineering and headquarters for potential solutions.
        h. Act as a direct liaison between customers and internal departments (including the Japan headquarters) to ensure timely and successful communication. 
        i. Once the specifications are set, determine the internal costs of the solution and compose an appropriate sales quote.
        j. Compose and present a solution proposal to the customer with equipment specifications, installation and service conditions with a commercial quote.
        k. Revise the proposal if necessary until all conditions are mutually agreed upon.
        l. Receive and process purchase orders by setting up an official sales project with a budget based on the internal costs.
       m. Determine and present shipping and installation schedules.
        n. Maintain and manage budget and timeline.

    Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese.
    • Must be deadline oriented, organized, and analytical.
    • Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in accordance with strategies set by the company.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.). Proficiency in SAP and CAD viewers helpful.
    • Ability to handle high stress/pressure from internal and external customers.

    • Required to travel (domestic and international up to 40%) and work overtime (up to 50%) as needed.
