  • Overview

    Daifuku America Corporation is a leader in Design, Manufacturing, Installation and Support of automotive automation/material handling systems in North America. The company is currently seeking an experienced Controller the facility in Reynoldsburg, OH.


    Responsible for leading and directing the organization's accounting functions. Establishing and maintaining the organization's overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies. Directs all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports. Presents findings and recommendations to management. Managing the departmental function within a broader corporate function. Developing major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.


    Other responsibilities:

    • Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
    • Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance and Human Resources to all departments, creating a well-respected and sought after department goal
    • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, Human Resources, and Operations etc.
    • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary
    • Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance and Human Resources to all departments, creating a well-respected and sought after department goal
    • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for senior management
    • Report to senior management when necessary in writing and verbally
    • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
    • Analyzing financial data utilizing a combination of SAP and Excel as required for reporting requirements.
    • Analyzing financial data to determine trends and /or significant changes
    • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
    • Understand other foreign currency transactions
    • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors
    • Complies with federal, state, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirement; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
    • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
    • Manage outsourced functions
    • Overseeing accounts payable and receivable departments
    • Ensuring income tax compliance
    • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
    • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
    • Understand and adhere to internal controls including JSOX.
    • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
    • Perform other duties as directed


    • Complete working knowledge of SAP (preferred), or other MRP software
    • Cost Accounting background desirable
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
    • Self-motivated and self-directed
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Advanced knowledge of accounting software

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Related discipline; Masters preferred
    • 10-15 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)


    Overtime may be required especially at quarter and year end. Occasional travel may be needed. Office environment. Prolonged periods of sitting and a lot of time keyboarding and looking at a monitor.
