  • Overview

    Under general supervision, maintains and repairs bag carts.

    Responsibilities

    • Repairs and replaces bag cart curtains and tires.
    • Oil and lube bag carts when needed.
    • Conduct repairs and general maintenance and/or fabrication on transport dollies as needed.
    • Completes forms in connection with work assignments, according to established procedures.
    • Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.
    • Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.
    • Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.

    Qualifications

    • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

     

    • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
    • Minimum of 1 year of basic mechanical experience
    • Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade

     

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures related to equipment repair.
    • Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures.
    • Certification in MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas)
    • Knowledge in the use of Oxyacetylene cutting methods

    Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Ability to log in retrieve and answer emails and take training.

     

     

    Other Requirements:

    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Must be able obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy
    • Must be able to comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Will work in a mechanics shop, in conditions that may contain dust, dirt and continual noise that is below OSHA’s action level. Must have the ability to work outside for extended periods, in weather extremes.
