Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

 The Safety and Quality Support Specialist’s primary objective is to collaborate in the design, development, deployment and continued maintenance and improvement of all areas of the Daifuku Safety and Quality Management Systems. The successful candidate should be proactive, autonomous, able to provide innovative solutions that balance compliance and business concerns, enjoy working hard and being challenged, have strong written and oral communication skills, quick to learn new tools, and demonstrate sound and logical judgment in a variety of situations.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Champion a culture of safety and promote the principle that “Safety is our Core.”
  • Advocate for quality excellence, aligning with the principle that “Excellence is our Mission.”
  • Assist in creating and improving safety and quality documentation through conducting research, interviews, site inspections, and reviewing processes and practices.
  • Provide recommendations to resolve safety and quality issues, ensuring alignment with standards, best practices, policies, and regulations.
  • Develop and monitor Job Hazard Analysis and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Assessments.
  • Collaborate to define training content requirements for safety and quality programs that ensure effective delivery.
  • Conduct training sessions on various safety and quality topics for employees at all organizational levels.
  • Lead internal quality and safety compliance audits and safety inspections, offering support as needed.
  • Analyze data, compile reports, verify accuracy, and distribute findings.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve common project objectives.
  • Promote continuous improvement platforms, such as quality programs, to enhance overall organizational excellence.
  • Maintain records related to training, inspections, audits, and other documentation as necessary.
  • Assist team members in meeting their safety and quality goals.
  • Organize safety and quality promotional events and activities.
  • Participate in additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience in safety and/or quality program coordination or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Ability to pass all necessary background checks.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurability under the employer's insurance policy.
  • Hybrid working arrangement includes office, home, and on-site support.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%.
  • Be prepared to work a flexible schedule to meet operational demands.
  • Openness to off-site training and workshops.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is necessary.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of airport operations and maintenance.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, COSS, NFPA 70E) are beneficial.
  • Relevant quality certifications (e.g., Certified 9001 Quality Auditor) are beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret and apply OSHA, NFPA, and ISO 9001 standards to Daifuku operations.
  • Experience in a related field or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires flexibility including but is not limited to working in an office that may include a shop environment, exposing the employee to dust, moving machinery, and noise levels that comply with OSHA standards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in fieldwork scenarios.
