Position Summary 

Supports development specifications, reading/reviewing device layout drawings, control schematics, and utilizing Programmable Logic Controls ladder logic to provide solutions to client issues. Works closely with the overall customer support and project teams to help solve complex issues

Responsibilities

  • Reviews customer specifications and scope documentation to assist in troubleshooting
  • Reviews system layouts, schematics and control devices to become familiar with client installs
  • Documents and creates Knowledge Base articles to assist the customer support team and clients resolve issues
  • Engages in active projects to contribute to future support contracts
  • Provides documentation and support to clients as required
  • Troubleshoots programmable logic controls programs
  • Occasionally assists with on-site commissioning to implement and validate the system design
  • Travel up to 30%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or controls engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with controls support
  • Experience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems required; experience with Allen-Bradley controls/controllers, Siemens, Omron and Schneider PLCs a plus
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong interest in industrial automation
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
