Position Summary:

 

The Buyer procures supplies and other materials to maximize value and maintain production schedules and office functions.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates supplies requirements and determines best sourcing strategy
  • Places purchase orders and follows up with confirmations and deliveries
  • Responds to emergency requirements from various departments
  • Responds to and resolve problems and discrepancies

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with purchasing or similar complex administrative job
  • Knowledge of vendor relationship management
  • Basic knowledge of negotiation tactics involving multiple vendors and subcontractors
  • Computer skills including MS Office
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team orientation
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
