Responsibilities

Position Summary

The welder joins metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
  • Planing work by interpreting welding symbols on blueprints
  • Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
  • Selecting and setting up welding equipment
  • Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
  • Using heat from an electric arc to cut and trim metal objects
  • Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
  • Minimum 3 year of structural welding experience 
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Crane operation certification required
  • Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
