Overview

Involved with projects from the quote stage to final engineering. Typical projects include the design and installation of industrial steel storage rack, structural steel platforms, conveyor support structures, shelving, elevated walkways, and custom designed products in large distribution centers. This position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and advancement. 

Responsibilities

  • Creates fabrication and installation drawings using Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Assists structural engineers with the layout and design of new structures and modifications to existing storage equipment using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Decides on vendors, products, and optimal equipment layouts and details
  • Generates bills of material
  • Obtains material quotes from vendors
  • Generates material purchase orders
  • Travels occasionally to job sites

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical design or equivalent experience
  • Previous material handling or construction experience a plus
  • Previous structural steel detailing experience a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD. Additional experience with Revit and / or Advance Steel is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn the material handling business and assist across teams and divisions within Wynright
  • Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results oriented environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
