Position Summary:


The Shipping Supervisor supervises activities of Shop employees. Supports manufacturing and safety objectives.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
 
  • Leads the daily work of the team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning
    work, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient work flow
  •  Reviews work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to procedures and quality and
    safety standards
  •  Provides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when
    needed
  •  Communicates with the Manager regarding schedules and backlogs
  • Assists the Manager with selection and performance management of employees and
    recommending compensation
  • Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures
    and working conditions, and process modifications
  • Gives the team written and oral instructions
  • Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency
  • Follows departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous improvement
    objectives, and safety rules
  •  Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and
    procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement
    to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a shipping operation
  • Excellent management skills for directing, coaching, scheduling, and assisting team members
  • Technical orientation with ability to learn new technologies
  • Computer skills including MS Office
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
