Overview

The Senior Manager of Software Engineering directs the teams of systems engineers and software engineers who design control systems for industrial material handling solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides software expertise for automated material handling systems and technical support to the overall project management team working on projects
  • Works with project teams and customers to define and execute the software functional specifications (BRD, hardware and network requirements)
  • Creates software project management plans, forecasts reports and manages the software life cycle on medium to large projects
  • Assists in the development of Software Marketing Materials for the products developed by the Wynrigh
  • Software Engineering Group
  • Assists in Client Training
  • Delivers solutions within defined budgets and aggressive timelines while following project standards and best practices
  • Manages project schedules and resources relating to software development
  • Attends project and customer meetings to provides technical support
  • Assists in the development of roadmap documentation and strategy for products developed by Wynright Software Engineering Group
  • Creates and executes in-house and on-site software test plans
  • Ensures a smooth transition from Software Project Execution Team to Client Care

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of software development experience
  • Experience in the material handling industry, distribution centers and warehouse automation
  • Knowledge of WMS material handling equipment and software offerings
  • Knowledge of Team Foundation Server version control system
  • Knowledge of business practices and project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and listening skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead work teams and projects effectively
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
